Is the University mission that of a doctor?

The University is in the psyche of Americans from Mian Street to Wall Street. Getting a job and being part of the middle class is a must-have. Americans have a love affair with college, like the prison.  You can see this in the college protests over the Gaza War. Contrary to people’s thinking, the college has had a mission for a thousand years to produce a professor. Also, part of the goals of the college is preserving information, international, public service, and jobs for private industry. Uncle Sam has manipulated the goals of the college and made students think they will get a job with college.  For example, they think of public service jobs associated with college, such as nurses, teachers, firefighters, and public servants. Ivy League doctorates usually get high-level jobs in the cabinet of the President of the United States of America.

The jobs that private industry gets when you finish your doctorate at the university include working for Pzier on the COVID-19 vaccine. Some scientists set up their own companies to research different new products. Some doctorates do consulting work for businesses. A minimum wage is available in the private sector or any job. The jobs that doctorates are minimal and narrow.

While it's true that public service roles, often associated with doctorates, are not as prevalent as one might think, the influence of Ivy League universities in shaping such careers is undeniable. The career trajectories of Ivy League graduates, particularly those with doctorates, often lead to high-level positions in the government. For instance, a professor can ascend to Secretary of State, as demonstrated by Henry Kissinger, a Harvard professor who served as the national security advisor and then the secretary of state. Economic advisors, typically Ivy League doctorates, further exemplify the impact of university education on public service. Even consultants for the news media sometimes come from the Ivy League, highlighting the diverse career paths that doctorate holders can pursue.

The international mission of the college was manipulated as well. Students come to universities to study from abroad, but the title of doctor carries out the college's goals.  You can go on international expeditions as the leading researcher worldwide on climate change. Archeologists go on a mission to Egypt to study the pyramids.  Most scholars, like in the public service and international goals of colleges, come from top universities like Harvard, Yale, and Oxford.
Another goal of the college is to persevere with information from the past to make a better future. For example, Medieval colleges preserved the ancient Greeks and Romans. Monks preserved ancient texts in the 5th century during the Dark Ages. Archeologists, Historians, and archaeologists are still trying to preserve ancient texts today. However, having a PhD would be best for achieving this goal.

In conclusion, the federal government has manipulated the university’s goals. The 19 million college students are wasting their time and money since college only works on its goals. The most important goal of producing a scholar to continue the college mission is not happening until you finish the doctorate. That means the mission of scholarship and delivering the next generation of scholars is not happening at the university.
